Next to the beach is a bar and an outdoor grill that served hamburgers/hot dogs/nachos, etc. It took us a day and half to figure that out. Towels were available in the wooden shacks at the beach. It would take almost about 30 mins from the time you ordered until you received your drink. After 11am, wait staff will come and take drink orders and deliver them. The website and paperwork all say that staff will reclaim spaces if the occupants are there, but I never saw that happen and we sat in that area for hours each day. ![]() People got up really early and went down to claim their space. There were plenty of lounge chairs, but a limited number of shaded areas. Both pools looked well maintained, clean and had ample seating in both sun and shade. There was a bar very close by and food venues. There is a quiet pool that had a bar in the pool and lots of seating around the pool. It was not my idea of a good time so I did not spend much time there. Pools: There is definitely a party pool and it was active. We did have an issue with black flies in our bathroom, but it is the tropics so we didn't think too much about it. The language barrier often had some mix ups like when I asked for more bottled water in the mini bar - no one could understand what I was asking for, but housekeeping showed up twice with extra towels. We never did get conditioner, but had two shampoos. My room only had one pair of complimentary slippers, but had two robes. It seemed like each room had a different supply of items. Housekeeping: Some of our party's rooms were missing trash cans or didn't have enough towels or didn't have complimentary conditioner. The lowest the a/c would go was 68 degrees, but there was a ceiling fan that helped a lot. Towels and wet bath suits never dried and even the paper schedules we had in our rooms (which we had to go to the reception area to get every day) were damp after a night in our room. The humidity in the place was challenging. Did not really allow for streaming even music and it did not really reach down on the beach. The wifi was spotty but worked enough to get text messages if using your imessage feature. The phone system allows you to dial the US without any additional charges. The sliding door opened to a patio which had some lounge chairs and an open air jacuzzi tub. The television had cable with some English speaking channels. The bathroom had a stand-up shower, a separate room with a toilet and bidet. Hair dryer, ironing board and iron are provided. The outlets accepted standard US plugs even if they looked a little funny. The fridge was stocked with beer, bottled water, soda and juices and were included. The fridge did not keep the beverages very cold, but it did work. The rooms have a television, desk, closet with robes and slippers, an in-room safe and a minibar/fridge. There were a couple of us who stayed next to each other and had connecting doors which gave our group a chance to spend more time with each other. Accommodations: We all stayed in junior suites. This particular group was not really looking for a party vacation, but one where we didn't have to worry about carrying extra cash, having options for dining and just a relaxing vacation. It was a nice trip for all of us, but there were highs and lows. More Show lessĪ group of nine women ranging in age from 35-55 went on a girls weekend at this all-inclusive resort. The good thing to mention on this hotel is the party: Non-stop. ![]() No consideration the day we got there and basically were paying for room we didn't even have, Will not come back here. We brought the issue up to a manager but they could not do anything. Room was labeled as Junior suite but it was a regular room. By booking two separate massages, we may use some coupons but ended-up being more expensive. We booked a couples massage for $250, and could not use ANY coupons for it. Although there were over $40 labeled as spa, we could not used even $5. These are a series of coupons to use on different amenities such as casino, elegant dinners, spa. Then they hand you $400 in coupons (advertised as $400 credit to use). We get there a day later and although we get charged for the day that we were not there, our room was not ready until regular checking time. ![]() ![]() Our flight was cancelled (not hotel's fault). You definitely get more for your buck in Cancun. OK hotel located in beautiful Punta Cana.
